Risks and challenges

Bringing a project like the Official WASP Singalong Songbook to life involves many moving parts—from collaborative content creation to full-color printing and fulfillment. We want to be transparent about what that means and how we’re preparing for it.

Content & Collaboration

This book is a collaborative effort between three contributors, which means coordinating writing, editing, formatting, and final approvals across multiple voices. How we’re addressing this: We are establishing clear timelines, roles, and internal deadlines ahead of production to ensure the content is finalized well before print. Much of the material is already in progress, reducing the risk of delays at this stage.

Design & Formatting

Songbooks require careful layout and formatting to ensure readability, consistency, and usability—especially across 100+ full-color pages. How we’re addressing this: We are prioritizing professional layout and design support and building in time for revisions before final print approval. Templates and formatting standards will be established early to streamline the process.

Printing & Production

Full-color, spiral-bound books at this size require specialized printing and binding, which can be subject to production timelines, material availability, and vendor capacity. How we’re addressing this: We are researching and working with experienced print vendors and building buffer time into our schedule. Final print quantities will be carefully aligned with backer demand to avoid over- or under-production.

Shipping & Fulfillment

Due to the size and weight of the book, shipping costs and logistics can be complex, especially for larger order volumes. How we’re addressing this: We are planning fulfillment in advance, including packaging materials, shipping estimates, and workflow. We will communicate clearly with backers regarding timelines and tracking once orders are ready to ship.

Tribute & Recognition Sections

Including supporter names and personal tributes adds a meaningful layer to this project, but also introduces the need for careful organization and formatting. How we’re addressing this: We will provide clear submission guidelines, deadlines, and character limits. All entries will be reviewed and lightly edited if needed for consistency and readability.

Timeline Considerations

Our goal is to deliver the finished book by April 2027, in time for WASP Homecoming. While we are building our schedule around this milestone, unexpected delays in production or shipping can occur. How we’re addressing this: We are building buffer time into each phase of the project and will keep backers updated regularly throughout the process. If delays arise, we will communicate transparently and adjust timelines as needed.

Our Commitment

While there are always uncertainties in a project of this scale, we are committed to approaching each phase with care, organization, and clear communication. Our goal is not just to complete this book—but to do so in a way that honors the music, the community, and the people helping bring it to life.
